Our History

The trust’s founding and future

The Rise Partnership Trust was setup (as the Brent Specialist Academy Trust, BSAT) in February 2016, and became a single academy trust in April 2017 when Manor School converted to academy status and joined the trust as its founding school.

In September 2019, The Avenue School (a free school) formally opened on its temporary site in Brondesbury, London, becoming RPT’s second school. The Avenue moved to its permanent site, located in Brondesbury Park, in 2022.

Trust development – name change and vision setting

Following extensive stakeholder engagement, the trust’s name, vision, and mission were changed to better reflect our current offer and aspiration to grow our trust beyond the local area, and enable us to explore business opportunities to supplement our schools’ budgets. The trust’s name was formally changed to The Rise Partnership Trust (RPT) in September 2021.

The future

The trust is proactively seeking growth opportunities with other trusts and schools, with the hope of being a ‘family of special and mainstream schools with at least four schools by 2025/6' (RPT Strategic Plan, July 2023).

The trust is also eager to work in partnership with other trusts, schools, organisations, and professionals/colleagues, to share our knowledge and expertise, and support the development and enhancement of SEND practice and services across the UK.

We aim to become a family of mainstream and special schools by 2025/26; this will enable us to provide the best education, enrichment opportunities and specialist provision for our whole community.
